How it connects

With the StatStrip range, the meters associate with a Nova connectivity hub, and that hub presents the results to the wider network. The hub speaks HL7 version 2, a long-established messaging standard used across healthcare for moving results between systems, and it makes those results available over a standard network connection rather than a serial cable to each meter.
Catenix connects to that interface using a small gateway that runs on-site. The gateway listens for the results the hub publishes, acknowledges them, and passes them to your Catenix workspace in the cloud. Because the hub brings several meters together, one job the gateway and Catenix perform is attributing each result back to the individual meter it came from, so a shared hub does not blur which handset produced a given reading. You do not need to expose the meters themselves to the internet: the gateway sits between the hub on your local network and the Catenix cloud. Results and quality control in Catenix
Once a result reaches Catenix it is captured automatically, with no re-keying by staff. Each result carries the detail Catenix needs to place it correctly: which meter produced it, when it was run, and whether it was a patient test or a quality-control check.
Keeping quality control apart from patient results matters, because QC material is not a patient and should never appear in a patient's record or in clinical reporting. Catenix reads the signals that distinguish a control run from a patient run and files QC data on its own track, where it supports your ongoing review of how each meter is performing. Patient results, meanwhile, flow onward to the systems you already run. Catenix can forward results to a LIS or EHR, so the reading a clinician sees arrives without anyone transcribing it by hand.
