Connecting a Siemens IMMULITE 2000 XPi to your LIS or EHR
Quick answer
Yes. The IMMULITE 2000 XPi is bidirectional, supporting broadcast download and host query. Catenix sends or answers with the tests ordered in your EHR, files controls as QC and returns matched patient results to the EHR or LIS. The protocol and physical link are confirmed from the system's host settings during setup.
The IMMULITE 2000 XPi is a continuous random-access immunoassay system running up to 200 tests an hour. It holds 90 samples in six racks of 15 and has 24 reagent positions, with about 100 assays across allergy, anaemia, autoimmune, bone, cardiac, diabetes, hepatitis, oncology, reproductive endocrinology, thyroid, TDM, ToRCH and infectious disease.
It is built for medium- to high-volume immunoassay laboratories, typically in hospitals above 200 beds handling more than 250 samples a day.

Order flow for the XPi
Catenix can broadcast the EHR's orders to the XPi before the racks are loaded, or answer when the system queries a barcode. Labs that receive batches from clinics often use download; labs with walk-in samples usually prefer query. In both cases the result comes back matched to its order by sample ID, and unmatched results wait for review.
Setup notes
We read the host settings on your XPi to confirm the connection type and message format, then map every assay code to the EHR's code. Siemens Smart Remote Services monitoring is separate and is not affected. The Catenix gateway reconnects on its own after network drops and stores results on site if the internet is unavailable.
On-board QC and Catenix QC
The XPi runs real-time QC on board with multiple QC lots per analyte. Where control results are sent to the host, Catenix files them as QC, grades them with Westgard rules against your lab's targets, keeps Levey-Jennings history and holds patient results for a failed test. Every message is kept with its result.
