Point-of-care results, filed in Semble.

Run the test at the bench and the result lands in Semble as a structured value against the right patient. Nothing read off a screen, nothing typed twice, no printout walked across the clinic.

Semble is the practice system many UK private clinics and specialists run, which many still know as Heydoc. Private clinics on Semble usually have no laboratory information system at all, so the platform has to carry the result the whole way: from the analyser, through quality control, into the record and out to the patient report.

Two things push a clinic to connect its analysers. The first is volume: enough tests a day that reading values off a screen and typing them into the chart stops being sustainable. The second is data: results that have to reach the system your team actually works from, reliably and with their history attached. If either sounds familiar, the connection pays for itself in staff time alone, before counting the errors it prevents.

Catenix sits between your analysers and Semble. A small gateway at the clinic captures each result electronically the moment it is produced, over HL7, POCT1-A2, ASTM or the device's own format. The result is matched to the right patient and operator, kept separate from quality-control runs, and forwarded to Semble through an API or file-based result import. The value that was measured is the value that is filed.

How it works

From bench to filed result.

01
Capture
The Catenix gateway takes each result from the analyser electronically, over the protocol the device speaks, with no re-typing.
02
Match
The result attaches to the right patient and the named operator, and quality-control runs are kept separate from patient results automatically.
03
Forward
The finished, traceable result is delivered to Semble through an API or file-based result import.
04
File
It arrives as a structured value in the record your clinicians already work from, ready for their review and sign-off.

Questions, answered

Before you ask.

How do point-of-care results reach Semble?

A result captured at the bench is turned into a structured message and delivered to Semble through an API or file-based result import. Catenix is designed to connect to Semble over open standards, so the value that was measured is the value that is filed against the right patient, with the operator and device attached.

Is Catenix integrated with Semble?

Catenix is designed and ready to connect to Semble over the standards it accepts. That describes connectivity built to open standards, not an affiliation with or endorsement by Semble. Exactly what flows, and how, is confirmed with your clinic during implementation.

Do we need a laboratory information system to connect analysers to Semble?

No. Catenix carries the result the whole way: it captures at the analyser, keeps quality control separate from patient results, and forwards the finished result to Semble. Where a result also needs to reach a patient or corporate client directly, Catenix builds the branded report from the same record.

Catenix is designed and ready to connect to the systems named on this page over open standards. That wording is deliberate: it describes connectivity built to published interfaces, not a claim of affiliation with, endorsement by, or certification from any named vendor. Product and company names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification only. What connects in your setting is confirmed during implementation. This page describes connectivity and data handling only and is not clinical advice.
