Connecting a Wondfo Finecare FS-113 to your LIS or EHR

Quick answer

Yes. The Finecare FIA Meter Plus (FS-113) has an RS232 computer interface and an Ethernet network port. Catenix connects to whichever your unit uses and sends its immunoassay results on to your EHR or LIS. The message format and order handling are confirmed on your unit during setup.

The FS-113, sold as the Finecare FIA Meter Plus, is a fluorescence immunoassay analyser with its own inner temperature control. Wondfo positions it for the ICU, the emergency department, the laboratory, GP offices and clinics, with results in 3 to 15 minutes.

Its menu is wide: cardiac markers such as cTnI, NT-proBNP and D-dimer, inflammation markers such as CRP, PCT and IL-6, HbA1c, kidney markers, thyroid and fertility hormones, tumour markers and more, from whole blood, serum, plasma, urine or faeces depending on the test.

RS232 or Ethernet

Wondfo gives the FS-113 two routes to a computer: a serial RS232 interface and an Ethernet network port. On a ward or clinic network, Ethernet lets the Catenix gateway reach the analyser directly; if the serial port is preferred, a serial device server puts it on the network. Either way the gateway reconnects by itself after a drop.

No public document names the FS-113's host message format, so we read it from your analyser during setup rather than assume it.

Many assays, one set of codes

Because one FS-113 can run anything from troponin to TSH, the important setup step is mapping each Finecare test to the code your EHR or LIS uses. Each test's lot and calibration information comes from its ID chip, so the analyser handles the curve and Catenix handles where the number goes. Results are matched to orders by sample ID, and those without an order wait for review.

Busy shifts and quick mode

Wondfo's quick mode is designed for runs with many samples, and real-time auto-printing gives staff a paper copy at the bench. Catenix adds a lasting record: each message is stored with its result, and results are held on site during an internet outage. Where control results reach Catenix they are filed as QC, graded with Westgard rules and shown on Levey-Jennings charts, with a failed control holding patient results for that test.
