Connecting a Siemens CLINITEK Novus to your LIS or EHR
Quick answer
Yes. The CLINITEK Novus supports ASTM and HL7, with Ethernet, three serial ports and four USB ports. Sample IDs can be downloaded from the host, so Catenix sends the EHR's orders and returns matched urine chemistry results to the EHR or LIS.
The CLINITEK Novus is a fully automated urine chemistry analyser that uses reagent cassettes and processes up to 240 samples an hour. It is built for busy laboratories, and is used from point of care to the central lab.

Sample IDs from the EHR
Sample IDs on the Novus can be entered by hand, read by barcode or downloaded from the host. Catenix downloads them from the EHR's orders, so the sample on the rack lines up with the right patient. Results come back matched by sample ID, and any without an order wait for review.
We confirm whether your unit uses ASTM or HL7, over Ethernet or serial, and map each urine parameter to the EHR's code at setup.
Checks, storage and QC
The Novus checks for humidity exposure and low sample level automatically, and stores 7,500 patient, 200 calibration and 400 control results. Control results reaching Catenix are filed as QC, graded with Westgard rules against your targets, with Levey-Jennings history, and a failed QC holds patient results for that test. The gateway reconnects after drops and stores results on site during internet outages, keeping every message with its result.
