Who is competent on which analyser, today, without opening a folder.
Point-of-care testing is done by hundreds of people who are not laboratory staff. The record of who is trained, on what, until when, is the one an assessor asks for and the one most often kept in a spreadsheet. Catenix ties it to the person who actually ran the test.

Certification per method
A certification per operator per device model or method, with who assessed, who certified, when, and until when. Assessor and certifier come from the signed-in user, never typed.
The matrix
Every operator against every method, with status and days to expiry, filterable by ward or site.
Expiry that announces itself
Expiring and expired certifications are Action Centre signals with a link to the record, and a notification event that can reach the operator and their manager.
Recertification reminders
A scheduler sends recertification reminders on a cycle, guarded so that several app processes never send duplicates.
Competency you can measure
QC results grouped by operator in the Statistics Workbench, so a training need shows as a difference in precision rather than a feeling.
Evidence where it is needed
Competency status feeds the management-review pack and the audit checklists, alongside the QC and device records.
Signatures that say what they mean
Sign-offs can carry an electronic-signature meaning statement, for example "I have reviewed this QC run and accept it", in the audit trail.

Catenix is connectivity, workflow, record-keeping and data display. It does not interpret results, calculate clinical values, classify or flag results clinically, or provide clinical decision support. Statistics describe methods, processes and datasets, never a patient. Any reference range or note shown is customer-authored content Catenix displays.

How does Catenix know who ran a test?

What does the competency record hold?
Certification per operator per device model or method, with assessed-by and certified-by taken from the signed-in assessor, dates and expiry. The matrix view shows every operator against every method with status and days to expiry.
What happens as a certification approaches expiry?
Expiring and expired certifications are Action Centre signals with a link to the record, a notification event can go to the operator and their manager, and the recertification scheduler sends reminders on a cycle without duplicating them across app processes.
Can competency be compared statistically?
Yes. The Statistics Workbench groups QC results by operator, so a difference in precision between operators is a chart and a test rather than an impression.
Does this cover training records for non-laboratory staff?
It covers certification and competency status per operator and method, with who assessed and certified them and when, which is what ISO 15189:2022 Annex A asks the laboratory to control for point-of-care staff. Supporting documents are referenced from the record rather than stored inside it.
